Knowing Goa,
inside out.

Four decades of design and restoration, rebuilt into a practice for those who buy, build and restore in Goa.

The Practice

The hand behind the work

My first commission came in 1986; by 1988, Inside Out Design had a name and a studio. In the decades since, I have designed and delivered work across homes, offices and public institutions — through every shift in material and method this state has seen.

The work I am proudest of was handed over in 2004: the archival restoration of the old Goa Medical College, a Portuguese-era landmark and one of Asia's oldest medical colleges. It settled a conviction I have carried ever since — that the highest form of design is not invention, but judgement.

After three decades of continuous practice, I made a deliberate choice: by 2021, with the pandemic reshaping everything, I stepped back from active work — unwilling to carry projects that no longer matched my standards. The studio returns now, after a considered pause — sharper, more selective, built for a Goa filling fast with buyers who do not yet know whom to trust.

Projects I Vouch For

Alta Mira · Miramar Beach

Founder verified · Joint venture

An eight-floor residence at Miramar Beach, Panaji — an equal joint-venture partnership with Models Leisure Ventures. I have walked this site month after month, working alongside their technical team to get the details right. It is a project I know intimately, and one I am glad to put my name to.

How I Help

Three ways the studio works

Curated real estate

A short list of Goa projects I have examined personally and will stake my name on. It stays short — that is the point.

Interior architecture & project aesthetics

Design-led guidance for realtors and developers — a trained aesthetic eye over a project's spaces, materials and finish, so the result feels considered rather than merely built.

Lead consultancy

For private clients I act as lead consultant — not the designer, but the experienced eye over the whole process: direction, sourcing, selection, the execution team and quality control. Where a project calls for it, my studio also delivers turnkey, from concept to handover — minimum project value applies.

Why It Still Works

Seasoned judgement, current tools

Thirty-eight years in, I keep up with everything new — materials, construction technology, and the digital tools now reshaping how spaces are designed and delivered.

A designer who stops learning starts guessing, and I have never been willing to guess with someone else's money.
